Some insurance plans cover nipple tattooing. Medicare often provides coverage, although it is not federally mandated, and Medicaid coverage varies by state. If your tattooing procedure is performed at a plastic surgeon’s office or hospital, the facility can usually handle the insurance claim for you. However, if you receive your tattoo at an independent studio, you will likely need to pay out of pocket and submit the claim to your insurance independently.
